Summary
One of ten plates belonging to a crimson and gilt bordered Spode Imperial pottery dessert service, consisting of one tureen, two square bowls, two oval bowls and ten plates. The service belonged to Mr T.W. Ferrers-Walker's great grandfather.
Provenance
Acquired by the National Trust in 1980 as part of the transfer of the estate, house and collection of Baddesley Clinton from Mr Ferrers-Walker. The set belonged to Mr Ferrers-Walker's grandfather. In 1987 it was recorded that there are only 15 pieces in existence. The other 6 pieces have not been recorded as missing as it is likely that they have been broken and thrown away.
