Summary
Print, engraving, Un amour platonique (after Eduardo Zamacois y Zabala) by Paul-Adolphe Rajon (Dijon 1842/3 - Auvers-sur-Oise 1888). On opposite side of page to (NT32850.14), showing a marble bust of female balanced on a plinth draped with elaborate curtain, being apparently serenaded by a black male servant dressed in eighteenth costume, with a feather duster lying on the floor in the foreground. In the background are two chairs, a sweeping brush which leans against another plinth on which is balanced a bust of the devil. On bottom left-hand side it reads: Rajon Feb... To the right reads: ZAMACOU... Under the print on left-hand side reads; Peint par E. Zamacis. Gravé par A.P.Rajon / UN AMOUR PLATONIQUE / Publié and Imprimé par Goupil and Cie Paris.
