Summary
A Morocco goatskin leather bound, wood, silver and metal portfolio album cover. Renaissance-style, carved fretted wood depicting cherubs, centaurs, dragons and foliage. Ferri and Bartolozzi, Siena. Leather bound album cover. Front cover is of carved wood with a metal geometric relief design, attached to the back by three metal studs on each side. The centre of the front cover has a circular metal disc surrounded by a raised arrow design border. Inside are three relief cherubs holding a tambourine, harp and lyre. The main body of the front cover has a raised wood carved design of animals, centaurs, angels, dragons and foliage. The back cover of the book is covered in textured leather, torn. The spine has five raised horizontal ridges. Inside the front and back cover is a gilded leather strip on all four sides. The book is fastened by two plain silver clasps with hallmarks. The hallmarks show from the left a lion, shield, A and Queen Victoria' head.. On the right side of the clasp, are etched the letters: TWM.
