Summary
Large mid-Victorian mahogany four-poster bed. The rounded rectangular moulded tester with cavetto cornice and turned bar, with pierced spirally-moulded end posts. Panelled canted square pedestals with removable bolt covers. The footboard has pierced scrolls centred by a flowerhead and is surmounted by fleur-de-lys. The headboard is covered with a panel of blue floral-printed cotton. Fourteen bolts and fourteen turned rings for the hangings. The underside has corner blocks with iron supports and lignum vitae castors. One end post has label in ink reading; H (?). Counsell.
