Summary
Wooden crate with lid nailed on. Top and bottom made of three planks, one on bottom being loose. Evidence of woodworm. On side of crate, printed in brown ink, but obscured by cream label; D 37714. Cream label printed in black; for British Railways (Western Region ) Paid Home. / The Hon. E.H.B. GIBBS, / Tyntesfield, Bristol. / TO FLAX BOURTON STATION, via Bristol / GLASS WITH CARE. On the side, printed directly on crate in brown and partly obscured; D N / RHINE 8 MOSELLE / WINES / FAMOUS THE WORLD OVER. On the other short side printed directly on crate in brown ink; DEINHARD AND CO / KOBLENZ / RHEIN. On the remaining side,also printed in brown ink; DEIN / RHINE AND MOSELLE / WINES / FAMOUS THE WORLD OV.
