Contains article on the collection of ship models bequeathed to the Naval Academy by Colonel Henry Huddleston Rogers (p. 1553-1566). Binder's[?] pencil note on original front wrapper: "F 13588" [i.e.: Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966)]. Ephemera: loosely inserted press cutting, dated "Aug 25" in pencil, on the bequest; (2) press cutting from the Washington post, 23 Jan. 1938, with photographs of some of the collection. Provenance: Twentieth-century armorial bookplate (large variant), signed Badeley 1930: ‘Urban Huttleston Rogers Lord Fairhaven’ [i.e.: Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966)]. Gilt stamped Fairhaven crest at head of spine [i.e.: Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966)]. Binding: Twentieth-century half green morocco, blue cloth over boards; gilt tooling; sewn onto five raised bands; gilt panelled spine; blue spine label, gilt lettered: 'U.S. Naval Institute Proceedings. / 1938'; gilt stamped Fairhaven crest at head of spine [i.e.: Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966)]; gilt top edge; marbled endpapers. Original printed paper wrappers retained. Binder's ink stamp on front pastedown: 'Birdsall Northampton.'
