Provenance: manuscript inscription on front free endpaper in black ink 'W. T. Blathwayt, from F. E. P. 29th October 1848' [= Rev. Wynter Thomas Blathwayt (1824-1909) and Frances Elizabeth Philips, first wife of Rev. Wynter Thomas Blathwayt (d.1869)] Binding: nineteenth-century red leather over boards; extensive blind stamped decoration to upper and lower covers; upper cover features a gold stamped image, possibly of Eton college chapel; lower cover features a gold stamped image of a monument; gilt edges; gold stamped decoration to spine; 'Gray's Poetical Works & Life' and 'Eton Illustrated Edition' lettered in gold directly on spine.
