Provenance: Embossed stamp on front free endpaper: 'U.H.R. Broughton.' [i.e.: Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966)]. Binding: Early twentieth-century full publisher's dark blue cloth; single white fillet to form an outer border on upper board; gilt and red stamped centrepiece on upper board (within a single white fillet border): men capping a burning oil well; red and white decoration and lettering on upper board; gilt stamped men in breathing apparatus in a lift, gilt lettering and red and white stamped men in breathing apparatus by rails on spine.
