Provenance: armorial bookplate of George William Blathwayt with shield and eagle [possibly = Col. George William Blathwayt (1797-1871) or Capt. George William Blathwayt (1824-1899)]. Binding: nineteenth-century half binding with tan calf and blue marbled paper; red sprinkled edges; simple gilt fillet decoration to create spine compartments; 'La Divina Commedia Di Dante' lettered in gold directly on spine.
