Binding: Twentieth-century half blue morocco, marbled paper over boards; sewn onto four recessed cords; spine lettered direct (gilt tooled): 'The Cloisters - 1939'; gilt stamped Fairhaven crest at foot of spine [i.e. Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966)]; gilt top edge. Binder's ink-stamp on front pastedown: 'Birdsall Northampton.'
