Provenance: Manuscript inscription on front free endpaper: "Lord Fairhaven / with pleasure that he, / like the writer, takes interest / in any contribution to / Cambridge history - / however slight. / F.A. Keynes." [i.e. to Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966) from the author, Florence Ada Keynes (1861-1958)]. Twentieth-century armorial bookplate (small variant), signed Badeley 1930: ‘Urban Huttleston Rogers Lord Fairhaven’ [i.e.: Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966)].
