With insert: small, plain card inscribed: 'Wishing you many happy returns of your birthday with love from Uncle William'. Provenance: Previously the property of Mary Drewe (1900-1985), elder daughter of Julius Drewe and Frances Richardson Drewe and removed from Castle Drogo in 1954 when Mary left to set up a nursery school in Exmouth. Bequeathed to the current owner by Mary Drewe, and gifted to the National Trust for Castle Drogo, 2024. Binding: Publisher's green cloth adhesive case-binding with black lettering on upper cover and gold lettering on spine.
