Provenance: printed armorial bookplate of George William Blathwayt on front pastedown [possibly = Col. George William Blathwayt (1797-1871) or Capt. George William Blathwayt (1824-1899)]; manuscript inscription on verso side of front flyleaf 'Anne Linley Blathwayt' [= Anne Linley Rose, wife of Rev. Charles Blathwayt (1800-1874)]; imprint of another manuscript inscription on verso side of front flyleaf but opposing leaf removed. Binding: nineteenth-century tan leather over boards; gold double ruled and floral border to upper and lower covers with rope border in blind and cornerpieces in blind; gold blocked board edges; marbled edges; marbled endpapers; gold and blind tooling to spine; red leather spine labels with title and volume number.
