[i.e. the home of Urban Hanlon Broughton (1857-1929) and his wife, Cara Leland Rogers, Lady Fairhaven (1867-1939)]. Binding: Twentieth-century full red morocco; triple gilt fillet to form an outer border; five raised bands; gilt tooled spine with gilt stamped spine compartments: imperial eagle, 'N' in laurel wreath with crossed sword and branches behind and bicorne hat above, eagle standard marked 'Liberty', and imperial crown; spine lettered direct (gilt tooled): 'Souvenirs d'un enfant de l'Alsace 1870-1914' and 'General Taufflieb'; double gilt fillet on board edges; gilt rolled turn-ins; gilt textblock edges; red ribbon marked. Binder's stamp on rear turn-in: 'Robson & Co Ld'.
