Provenance: Manuscript inscription on front pastedown: "S.Y. Sapphire" [i.e. from the library of the yacht ‘Sapphire’, owned by Urban Hanlon Broughton (1857-1929), later by Cara Leland Rogers, Lady Fairhaven (1867-1939)]. Binding: Twentieth-century full publisher's dark olive green cloth; double black fillet to form an outer border on boards with black stamped cornerpieces: decorative letter 'W'; black stamped letters of the alphabet at fore-edge of boards (A-M on upper board; N-Z on lower board); black lettered upper board; gilt lettered spine.
