Provenance: Twentieth-century pictorial bookplate (sailing ship with Fairhaven arms on sails): ‘Sapphire R.Y.S.’ and ‘Broughton’ [i.e. from the library of the yacht ‘Sapphire’, owned by Urban Hanlon Broughton (1857-1929), later by Cara Leland Rogers, Lady Fairhaven (1867-1939)]. Binding: Twentieth-century full publisher's brown cloth; single blind fillet at head and foot of boards and spine; blind stamped publisher's device on boards; gilt lettered upper board and spine.
