Provenance: inscribed "Catherine Vaughan from Rev B.F. Westcott Harrow. Decr. 1860" [i.e. Catherine Maria Vaughan, née Stanley (1821-1899) from Brooke Foss Westcott (1825-1901)]; also inscribed "Stamford, Weybridge" [i.e. William Grey, 9th Earl of Stamford (1850-1910)]. Extensive pencil underlining in text and one annotation. Binding: nineteenth-century red morocco, gilt tooled panel and borders; five raised bands (three sewing supports); gilt tooled and lettered spine. All edges gilt.
