Twentieth-century armorial bookplate (small variant), signed Badeley 1930: ‘Urban Huttleston Rogers Lord Fairhaven’ [i.e.: Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966)]. Pencil inscription on front free endpaper verso: "A E Richardson / Ampthill Collection / Avenue House. / 1928" [i.e. Sir Albert Edward Richardson (1880-1964). Binding: Late nineteenth-century full light green publisher's cloth over bevelled boards; gilt stamped title on upper board and spine; gilt stamped pictorial cornerpiece (angel) on top left of upper board; recessed cords; brown floral patterned endpapers.
