Twentieth-century armorial bookplate (small variant), signed Badeley 1930: ‘Urban Huttleston Rogers Lord Fairhaven’ [i.e.: Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966)]. Gilt stamped coat of arms of Lord Fairhaven on upper board. Binding: Twentieth-century full mustard yellow morocco; triple gilt fillet to form an outer border; gilt stamped coat of arms of Lord Fairhaven on upper board; five raised bands; spine lettered direct (gilt tooled): 'A background to Chinese painting', 'Soame Jenyns' and '1935'; double gilt fillet on board edges; two sets of double gilt fillets on turn-ins; gilt textblock edges; pale yellow ribbon marker. Binder's name gilt tooled on rear turn-in: 'Robson & Co Ltd.'
