The natuorama; : or, Nature's endless transposition of views on the Thames. This picture, contained in the form of an embellished book, is composed of the following views on the Thames: - 1. Star and Garter, Richmond Hill. 2. Staines. 3. Clifton. 4. Boulney, near Henley. 5. Clifton Spring. 6. Garrick's House, Hampton. 7. Windsor Castle. 8. Eton College. 9. Sion House. 10. Mrs. Sullivan's, Thames Ditton. 11. Pope's Villa, Twickenham. 12. Fawney Court, near Henley. 13. Hampton Court. 14. Oxford. 15. Hampton Ferry. 16. Goring Church. 17. City Barge, near Kingston. 18. Oatlands. The parts separately form correct views of towns or noble mansions, yet are so contrived as to produce, by transposition, every species of beautiful landscape, intersected with islands, barges, groupes of figures, cattle &c.; the whole forming an infinity of picturesque combination, and capable of being changed to thousands of views. One peculiar novelty in the management of the respective views, is a moveable scene of Pope in his grotto, by which is added a rich fore-ground of mechanical perspective; and is intended not only as an amusement, but also to assist students in drawing from nature, and particularly to excite ingenuity and invention in the art. / The drawings taken from nature by R. Havell, Jun.
