Booksellers label of "J. Taylor" of Brighton and London on front pastedown. Nineteenth-century inscriptions on front free endpapers: "Mrs Boughton to L. Rogers 1825" and "Henry Lowry Barncock the gift of his kind friend Mrs Rogers ... 1829". Twentieth-century blue ink stamp on front free endpaper: "Springhill". Binding: Nineteenth-century red strainght grained morocco; gilt roll to form a boarder; gilt edges; gilt roll to edges of boards; blue endpapers; spine with three raised bands, gilt fillets, gilt tooled compartments (incl. harp tool), spine title "Gays poetical works" gilt lettered direct.
