Provenance: inscribed on pastedown "Vauncey Harpur Crewe with his mother's love Oct: 14th 1862" [i.e. Sir Vauncey Harpur Crewe, 10th baronet (1846-1924) from Georgiana Stanhope Lovell Crewe (1824-1910)]. Loose insert: folding leaf of notepaper with Calke Abbey header, dated 'June 1920', with manuscript notes on lobsters at Brighton Aquarium, signed 'VH Crewe'. Paper cutting affixed to final page, regarding 'Red lobster caught off Bognor', with another ink annotation at head of page, also signed. Binding: publisher's blue cloth, gold lettered spine.
