Manuscript inscription on front free endpaper in vol. 2: "To my dear friend Emilie Grigsby. Ethel Snowden. Augt. 20th 37.". Binding: twentieth-century full black publisher's cloth; single blind fillet at head and foot of upper boards; gilt-lettered upper boards and spines.
