Summary
Scrapbook album of newspaper cuttings pasted onto first 48 pages, compiled by Evelyn Caroline Bromley Legh, Lady Newton, née Davenport (1859-1931). The cuttings cover the period of January 1918 to June 1928. There are numeous accounts of the wedding of Phyllis Legh and Gerard Sandeman, Jan. 31, 1918. The main focus is on social engagements and family pictures, but there are also reports of the political life of Lady Newton's husband, Thomas Wodehouse Legh, 2nd Lord Newton (1857-1942) and events at Lyme Park. Each cutting has a manuscript note of source and date. Preliminary lined pages with thumb index are blank. The final volume of a set of seven scrapbook albums, otherwise having the title: Newspaper cuttings
