Down) to LL, June 9th, 1958; autograph letter signed from Shane Leslieto LL on RMS Mauretania headed paper, June 8, 1958; 2 empty envelopes addressed to LL account bill of Helena Rubinstein Ltd, dated 30/5/58, for 9.18.0; leaf torn from May 1958 diary; (p.53) printed compliments card of Philip Antrobus Ltd ; (p.451) broken piece of tortoise-shell plastic ; four blotter leaves at rear. Provenance: twentieth-century armorial bookplate (dated 1922) with portrait: "Edith Helen Marchioness of Londonderry. D.B.E." [i.e. Edith Helen Chaplin, m. in 1899 Charles Viscount Castlereagh, 7th Marquess of Londonderry from 1915]. Motto in Scottish Gaelic over portrait ("Tha mo cridhe's an tir nam beann" [My heart is in the land of mountains]). Binding: publisher's quarter white cloth, with black cloth on boards; illustrated, with spine lettered in black.
