Provenance: Pasted in letter (dated 31 Oct. 1933) from the author, presumably to Charles, 7th Marquess of Londonderry whose bookplate appears on the flyleaf. In the letter, Helen Waddell expresses her gratitude for something Lord Londonderry has arranged[?]. The letter finishes in a PS "Didn't S.B. do me pround in Belfast?". Inscribed on flyleaf "For the Prince & the Power & the Air from Helen Waddell, 1933". Twentieth-century armorial bookplate showing Vane-Tempest-Stewart arms marshalled with Chaplin, motto "Metuenda corolla draconis, with two supporters, all underneath a marquess's coronet with helmet and griffin passant crest, flanked by two badges, lettered in banner "Charles Stewart Henry Vane-Tempest-Stewart, 7th Marquess of Londonderry KG". Signed "W. & A. Mussett fecit; Lincoln's Inn, London". [i.e. Charles Vane-Tempest-Stewart, 7th Marquess of Londonderry (1878-1949)]. Binding: Twentieth-century publisher's quarter vellum on brown canvas, gilt lettering on upper cover and spine.
