Provenance: Late eighteenth or early nineteenth-century armorial bookplate showing Stewart arms impaled with Pratt arms, flanked by two supporters, underneath an earl's coronet. Motto "Metuenda corolla draconis", lettered "Londonderry" [used by either Robert Stewart (1739-1821) cr. 1st Earl of Londonderry in 1796, cr. 1st Marquess of Londonderry in 1816, or his second wife Lady Frances Pratt (ca. 1751-1833), dau. of Charles Pratt, 1st Earl of Camden]. Printed on pink paper. Binding: Nineteenth-century half marbled calf on marbled paper over boards. Sewn on recessed cords, red leather spine label lettered in gilt. Edges densely sprinkled brown.
