Complement slip of John & Edward Bumpus, with a handwritten note by John Bumpus: "NB Ward's Canterbury Pilgrimage to follow J.O.S.B.", loosely inserted between pp.64-65. Loosely inserted printed blank postcard with Bumpus list of subjects between pp. 80-81. Provenance: Twentieth-century monogram bookplate with initial ‘E' against a rose inside a marquess's coronet and a framed by a double L [i.e. Edith Helen Chaplin (1879-1959), m. in 1899 Charles Vane-Tempest-Stewart, 7th Marquess of Londonderry from 1915]. Binding: Twentieth-century publisher's full blue cloth, gilt centre-piece, gilt lettering on spine.
