Provenance: Gilt armorial stamp displaying Vane-Tempest-Stewart marshalled with Chaplin under a marquess coronet with charges and motto (Metuenda corolla draconis) [used by Edith Helen Chaplin (1879-1959), m. in 1899 Charles Vane-Tempest-Stewart, 7th Marquess of Londonderry from 1915]. Binding: Twentieth-century half polished mottled calf on marbled paper, gilt armorial stamp on upper cover, gilt tooled on spine. Blue and green leather spine labels, lettered in gilt. Gilt-top, marbled endpapers. Binder's stamp on verso flyleaf "Bound by Bayntun (Riviere), Bath, England".
