Holdings: 3 articles bound together, 2 from vol. 5 (June 1900) [Cyril Davenport "On the binding of this volume" and Theresa Marchioness of Londonderry "Robert Stewart, Viscount Castlereagh"] and 1 from vol. 8 (March 1901) [Winston Churchill's "British Cavalry"]. The binding is an imitation of those produced by Samuel Mearne (1624-1683), which was used for vol. 5 and the boards of this have been reused for binding these three articles together. Pencil note on upper pastedown listing the contents (not the article by Davenport). Provenance: No ownership marks. Binding: Twentieth-century full red morocco, gilt and black panel stamp, rebacked. Gilt-top. After the royal bindings of Samuel Mearne.
