D.B.E." . Motto in Scottish Gaelic over portrait ("Tha mo cridhe's an tir nam beann" [My heart is in the land of mountains]) [i.e. Edith Helen Chaplin, m. in 1899 Charles Vane-Tempest-Stewart, 7th Marquess of Londonderry from 1915]. Binding: Twentieth-century full red morocoo, gilt panels, gilt lettering on upper cover and spine. Grey endpapers, gilt edges. Binder's stamp "Hatchards 187 Piccadilly".
