Provenance: ownership inscriptions on title page and engraved title page: "C.H. Harbord" [i.e. Lady Caroline Harbord (1767-1850). Caroline Hans Hobart (daughter of 2nd Earl of Buckinghamshire, John Hobart) married William Assheton Harbord (1766-1821) of Gunton Hall in 1792]. Binding: early nineteenth-century full polished goatskin, covers with double gilt border, Greek key design on turn-ins; spine lettered direct and elaborately gilt and blind in compartments with raised bands, shell-patterned red marbled endpapers.
