Various prayer cards used as bookmarks. Between pp. 176-7 of the Bible is a silhouette cutting of Georgina Frances Crewe [(1839-1852), youngest daughter of Sir George Crewe 8th Bt and Jane Whitaker] inside a folded paper with ms note "Georgina F Crewe d. Jan. 1852 aged 12 yrs. Like but not a good likeness". Provenance: Inscribed on t.p. of the BCP "Geo. Crewe 1835" [i.e.Sir George Crewe, 8th Bt (1795-1844)] and "Isabel Jane Crewe March 1842" [i.e.Isabel Jane Crewe (1831-1909), daughter of Sir George Crewe, 8th Bt, and Jane Whitaker]. Inscribed with a note from George Crewe to Isabel Crewe on upper flyleaf. Binding: Nineteenth-century publisher's full brown calf, lettered direct in gilt on spine "Bible and prayer". Gilt edges.
