Author may be Sir George Crewe, 8th Bt, of Calke Abbey (1795-1844) addressing his son, John Harpur Crewe, future 9th Bt., whose birthday was 18 November and who would have been 15 at the time of publication. The "Remarks" specifically state that the treatise was written upon the occasion of the son leaving home for school. Binding: Nineteenth-century publisher's full black cloth, gilt lettering on upper cover. Leaves unopened.
