Manuscript notes facing the contents page, and pencil notes throughout, identify the targets of the parodies. Provenance: armorial bookplate (not listed in Franks): 'William Borlase, M.A. Zennor Vicarage' annotated in ink: "No. 630" (bookplate crossed through in ink [by a later owner?]). Manuscript inscriptions on front pastedown: "Bought of Kinsman of Plymouth 1888. 10/6 FB."; "Francis G.M. Boileau"; and [in a different hand] "Very scarce". Pencil inscriptions: "230/258", "R" and "A/R". Ink-stamps on title page: 'Wm. Borlase No, 631', and Borlase crest. Capital letter "R" written in pencil on title page. Ink-stamp on verso of title page: Borlase coat of arms, lettered: 'W. Borlase Zenner Vicarage' [sic]. Ink-stamp on p. [1]: 'Wm. Borlase No, 631'. Binding: nineteenth-century quarter vellum, marbled paper over boards; spine lettered direct (manuscript): "Warreniana".
