Vivianj 1588 Aquisgrani" [i.e. Jean Vivien (1543?-1598), wealthy merchant and humanist; in 1571 established in Antwerp, in 1585 moved to Aachen ("Aquisgrani"). Born in Valenciennes, died 12 September 1598 in Aachen. CERL gives Vivien's dates as 1520?-1598]. Hollow number 4 stamped in ink at head of title page. Manuscript sums in pencil on recto of rear fly-leaf. Binding: sixteenth-century full plain vellum (with ink blotches and other staining) over boards; sewn onto three leather strips; remnants of two pairs of alum-tawed ties (missing) through covers; spine cracked. Red stained textblock edges. Four vellum strips line the spine.
