Lower flyleaf contains a pasted-in letter from Edward Ca[...]ter of Parkhill (dated Aug 18, 1877) to Lady Julia Lockwood[?] about Darlington Hall. Provenance: At one point in the possession of Lady Julia Lockwood [poss. Julia Gore (c. 1800-1891) m. Robert Manners Lockwood in 1821)]. Prob. a stray from the Gardner Wilkinson Library. Binding: Nineteenth-century publisher's full navy cloth binding, blind embossed, gilt lettered on spine. Gilt-top.
