Provenance: manuscript inscription in sixteenth-century hand at head of title page: "Neuylli ffurores Norfolc:". Manuscript underscoring of text in pencil on leaves b1-2, A2, B3-4 and marginal markings on leaves Q3-4. Uncancelled leaves R3-4 have manicules drawn in black ink pointing to the text criticizing the Welsh levies as lazy and comparing them to sheep; these passages were offensive to the government and the leaves were cancelled in other issues. Manuscript continuation of the table of the mayors and sheriffs of Norwich from 1575-1584 (1585-1597 left blank) on blank leaf at end. Manuscript former shelfmarks in pencil on front pastedown: O4 (crossed-out) and N3 (or W3). Manuscript former shelfmark in pencil on rear pastedown: O4. Binding: nineteenth-century half-bound calf, with dark blue paper over boards; gold-tooled spine; gilt title label on spine. Pale yellow-stained textblock edges.
