In banner: "Charles Bowyer Adderley", and underneath: "Hams Hall, Warwickshire" [i.e. Charles Bowyer Adderley, 1st Baron Norton (1814-1905)]. Binding: Nineteenth-century full calf, double gilt fillet forming a border, gilt board edges and blind doublure. Sewn on three recessed cords (five raised bands), gilt tooled on spine, green and brown leather spine labels, lettered in gilt: "Miller's Works" and "Vol. VII. Popular geology". Bound uniformly and shelved with a 6 vol. set of Miller's collected works and two later publications.
