[12], 370 p. ; 19cm. Former shelfmark: F4A.a.29. Provenance: Nineteenth-century armorial bookplate with initials: "GJHELHC" [i.e. Georgiana Jane Henrietta Eliza Lovell (1824-1910) m. Sir John Harpur Crewe, 9th Bt, in 1845]. Also inscribed: "Georgiana Crewe Novb. 18th 45 Calke Abbey. A gift from my dear old friend Mrs William Hawkins née Constantia Drought, for my marriage". Binding: Nineteenth-century full grained tan morocco, gilt panel stamp on covers, gilt tooling on board edges and doublure. Sewn on two recessed cords, five false raised bands. Gilt tooling on spine, lettered direct in gilt on spine: "Wives of England Ellis". Cloth covered endpapers with a single gilt fillet and corner pieces, gilt edges.
