Provenance: possibly formerly belonging to the Cnossen family, who had an estate near Bolsward, Friesland; the family coat of arms is a double-headed eagle, which is stamped on the binding. Binding: sixteenth-century full calf (very worn); sewn on four leather supports; blind triple fillet border; blind triple fillet panel, with gilt fleur-de-lys cornerpiece stamps and gilt double-headed eagle with crown centrepiece stamp. Rebacked (nineteenth-century?) in goatskin; new endpapers. Red sprinkled edges. Vellum manuscript waste at front and rear.
