[i.e. catalogue code of John Mitchell (ca. 1685-1751), librarian to Sir Richard Ellys (1682-1742)]. Manuscript numbers and inscriptions in Greek on front fly-leaf: "214", "2909" and "nlōata men anthraōōn[?] Philocher...omosen[?] de ...". Manuscript inscription on title page: "L. Andrewes. ex dono Authoris" [i.e. the gift of the author Andrew Downes (1549?-1628) to Lancelot Andrewes (1555-1626), Master of Pembroke College, Dean of Westminster and, later, Bishop of Chichester, Ely and Winchester. Both Andrewes and Downes were Greek scholars at Cambridge University, and both were appointed by King James I in 1605 to the committees to translate and revise the Authorised Version of the Bible].
