Oxford 9.2.44"; re: Spanish hand amulet of Saint Teresa of Avila; pagemarker (p.305) torn card printed with 'Dr. Barnardo's homes'; (v.5) article extracted from unknown source (loose-leaf, pp.527-530) 'The ice-men of May' by Edith Grey Wheelwright; with one annotation; page extracted from Journal of the Royal Horticultural Society (pp.335-336), 'Gardening saints' by F. Cardew; (v.9) news cutting article 'The monk who flew: an authentic miracle of levitation' by Montague Summers [text marking, with 'monk' changed to 'friar' in title, from Light: a journal of spiritualism, psychical, occult and mystical research, no.3167, vol. 61 (September 25, 1941). Pencil text marking and annotation, with rear endpaper page references in all volumes. Provenance: pastedown inscribed "V.S-W. / Sissinghurst 1943" [i.e. Vita Sackville-West, 1892-1962]. Binding: brown publisher's cloth, gold lettered spine.
