[possibly Jan van Bronchorst (1494-1570), nicknamed Johannes Noviomagus, Dutch philosopher and mathematician, jurist, professor of mathematics in Rostock, professor of philosophy in Cologne]. Manuscript former shelfmark on verso of second front fly-leaf: "Q.2.3". Extensive manuscript notes on rear fly-leaves. Binding: sixteenth-century blind-panelled calf (rubbed, very worn); sewn on four double cord supports; framework of blind thin thick thin fillets; outer panel with repeated crested roll of interlaced u-shapes with floral ends; head and foot of central panel (otherwise blank) with thin heads in medallions roll; spine partially missing. Manuscript fore-edge title: "Horati".
