Laid in: letter to Anne, Countess of Rosse regarding the Messel collection of fans; letter to Anne from Alistair Buchanan, dated October 17th 1985 "I am surviving at Morgan Grenfell ..."; letter from Harold Acton referring to Anne's illness and asking if she had received this book "I thought it might amuse you; so many old friends are included." The section on Acton possibly refers to Anne, as it is marked with a marginal line "I am reluctant to inflict myself on friends abroad with a single exception ...". Binding: publisher's blue cloth; original pictorial dust jacket, as issued.
