Musch love Ann & Alistair" [i.e. to Anne, Countess of Rosse (1902-1992) from Alistair and Ann Buchanan]; with a letter laid in from Gordon Robertson, Land Officer for the National Trust, to Anne, Countess of Rosse, dated 5th August, 1987, proposing a visit to Nymans by the Southern Regional Committee. With a note on King Edward VII hospital headed notepaper "As I leave hospital this morning ... May I thank the sisters with a bottle of champagne from Berry Brothers & leave something to cleaners ...". On a postcard "get 6 bottles of "good ordinary claret" from Berry Bros to send to Matron King Edward VII Hospital ... Dear Matron - Everyone was so kind to me when I was in Edward VII for two days Could you be kind & give this small gesture of my appreciation to the sister & staff who looked after me to drink when off duty!".
