Provenance: nineteenth-century Anson bookplate with motto ‘Nil desperandum’ and Viscount’s coronet (though seven pearls visible) [i.e. Thomas Anson, created Viscount Anson & Baron Soberton, 1806 (1767-1818) or his son, Thomas William Anson, 2nd Viscount Anson (1795-1854), created Earl of Lichfield, 1831]. Binding: nineteenth-century grained red brown calf, with marbled paper on boards; gold tooled and gold lettered spine.
