Provenance: nineteenth-century manuscript inscription in ink by the bibliographer W. H. Allnutt on second front fly-leaf: "Printed in London by Thomas Vautrollier. 1581". Manuscript inscription on p. 24: "Geo: Leighus". Sixteenth-century manuscript inscription on rear fly-leaf: "John steuens oweth this booke / witnes by John wade and / Roger smythe the rose / is red the lewes[?] be / grene god saue / elizabeth our / noble queene". Binding: nineteenth-century half-bound black goatskin, with blue cloth over boards. Gilt title and place/date on spine.
