Provenance: nineteenth-century Anson bookplate with motto ‘Nil desperandum’ and Viscount’s coronet (though seven pearls visible) [i.e. Thomas Anson, created Viscount Anson & Baron Soberton, 1806 (1767-1818) or his son before 1831, Thomas William Anson, 2nd Viscount Anson (1795-1854), created Earl of Lichfield, 1831]. Binding: nineteenth-century full calf; gilt fillet border & gilt tooled spine; gilt lettered spine-labels partly missing. (Some spine damage.)
