Provenance: Inscription in ink on verso of frontispiece: `To Miss Clara Boehmer from her Yankee Cousin Fred [i.e. F.A. Miller = Agatha Christie’s parents]. Dec 4th. 1872'. On inside rear cover is pasted ticket: `Bound by Burn and Co.'. Binding: Casing covered in pictorial red cloth, raised boards, with gold lettering and black illustrations on front and spine. Front cover vignette of Stanley meeting Livingstone. Some damage from damp.
